BSF shoots dead 3 Pak intruders near Attari border

In a major breakthrough, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down three Pakistani smugglers and seized 24kg heroin along with huge cache of arms and ammunition after a brief encounter at Mullankot in Attari sector of the Indo-Pak border.

The intruders were shot dead in cross firing with night patrolling party of BSF after they were trying to enter into Indian territory, informed BSF officials.

\"Suspicious movement was noticed at the Border Out Post (BOP) Mullankot at about 9pm on Friday and soon the smugglers were challenged to stop but since they opened fire on our jawans, the troops also retaliated and shot them down\", said a BSF official.

After the encounter at night, BSF launched a search operation in the morning and recovered 24kg heroin, worth Rs. 120 crore in international market, one AK-47, two pistols, two magazines of AK-47 assault rifle and 44 live cartridges.

Three Pakistani mobile phones were also recovered from the spot

BSF in the past few days have made series of recoveries from the Amritsar sector but that has not stopped smugglers from trying to enter this side of the border.
