Punjab shocked as 2-year-old rape victim battles for life

Ludhiana: The graph indicating rape seems to be going up at a steady rate. In an incident in Ludhiana on Tuesday, that shocked the residents and police alike, a 2-year-old girl was abducted from her house, raped, and dumped on roadside.



The child's condition has been stated as critical. Police interrogations revealed that the child's father is a laborer. The girl's father informed the police that he could not find his child when he woke up at 2.30 in the night. Sensing some trouble, the child's family took the help of area residents and tried to search the girl. She was later found dumped on the roadside.



The family took her to their home and later rushed her to the civil hospital after she told her mother that she was abducted and raped by two persons.



Meanwhile, finding the condition of the girl to be critical, the authorities at the civil hospital referred her to PGI.



The victim's father has also complained to the police that an amount of Rs 8000 has been stolen from his house. A case has been registered and investigations launched into the case in the light of the information provided.
