Iulia who, asks Salman Khan

Salman Khan is no stranger to rumours. A few months back, the latest name linked to Salman was that of a Romanian model called Iulia Vantur.

While some claimed the two may be planning to marry, reports later said that the couple had split. Yet, when we asked the man himself, he gave us

Salman Khan back with Bigg Boss 7

the impression that he didn't know who we were talking about. Truth or feigned ignorance? It's hard to tell with Salman.

Tell us about the various rumours we've been hearing about your relationship with Iulia.

Iulia, who? What? You know, I've been reading a lot about this, and, in fact, more than that, I've been hearing a lot about this myself. Again, what?

Shah Rukh Khan's recent film broke all your records. Did that bother you?

That's damn good, and I'm really happy. All films should do well. Ranbir's (Kapoor) film also did so well. I don't understand this game at all. If the film is good, it will do well and, if not, it won't. Now, the (number of) theatres is increasing and so is the business and the population. Films are better too.

Are you ever likely to direct a film?

Not yet. As for the future, we'll see.

Apparently, you ghost-directed Dabangg 2 (2012).

Arbaaz (Khan, filmmaker and brother) won't even let me get close to the camera. We wrote the script ourselves, it was teamwork. But no, I didn't ghost-direct the film.

You have no releases in 2013. Your fans seem to be missing you.

Well, my brother Sohail (Khan, director) and I tried, but we couldn't finish the project in time. We're still working on it. The film, we think, is good, so you can expect a big one. And if the film is not good — which isn't something we think — you can still expect a big one (laughs).

There are rumours that since Bigg Boss has a heaven and hell theme, some old contestants might be a part of the show.

I doubt that will happen.

Last year, you requested the show be aired in a primetime slot. What other change would you like to see?

I really hope that they do one episode a day instead of two episodes. It's just very, very taxing. Also, is it possible that I don't work as much as I am right now and still take the same amount of money and go home? (laughs)

Would you ever participate in the show as a contestant?

That's a difficult one. I don't think I want to, not for any other reason but that I will be too entertaining inside the house (sic). You know, the ratings will hit the roof and I don't want to set such high standards for the others. So I'd rather stay out of the house (laughs).
