AGRICULTURE DIRECTOR (PUNJAB) RELEASES A BOOK “AGRIPRENEURSHIP” AT PAU

The Director of Agriculture, Punjab, Dr Mangal Singh Sandhu today released a book entitled "Agripreneruship- An Opportunity for Rural Employment" at the Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The book, which has chapters mostly contributed by PAU and GADVASU faculty, has been jointly edited by Dr Manjit Singh Mahal, Director, PAMETI, and Dr Jasbir Singh, Deputy Director (Marketing), PAMETI. On this occasion, Dr B.S. Chahal, Chief Agriculture Officer, Ludhiana;PAU faculty members; and the trainees from State Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture. In his remarks, Dr Sandhu said that this book will act as a guide for the rural youth as it covers all the technology packages concerning agriculture and allied sectors. He added that the technological options in agriculture, livestock and for women have been given special emphasis. Welcoming the dignitaries and other guests, the Editor, Dr Manjit S. Mahal said that the major objective of this book is to advice and provide options to the rural youth to start their own enterprises for sustainable livelihood.
