A delegation of United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association had a meeting

Ludhiana- 03.08.2013

with Sh. Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce under the leadership of Sh. Gurmeet Singh Kular, President UCPMA on dated 02.08.2013 to discuss the problems regarding New Industrial Policy Punjab.

The Principal Secretary was informed that a land of 1742 acre was declared as Industrial Area-C under the grant incentive scheme 1992 by Punjab Government but so for this area has not been given the status as designated area which is dominated by MSME units who plays a great role for the development of engineering industry and are deprived of those facilities which are available to the other designated areas.

As per New Industrial Policy of Punjab announced recently, No incentive has been given to the MSME industry as investment starts from 10 crore which too high for the MSMEs Units. It was requested to the Principal Secretary that investment should start from Rs. 10 Lac for MSME so that industry may flourish.

He was requested that the area mentioned above may please be declared as designated area and should be brought under industrial focal point so that the facilities provided in the industrial focal point may also be provided to these areas i.e. Industrial Area. The industry located therein will remain indebted to you for this noble cause.

He was requested that complete and comprehensive New Industrial Policy Punjab be made available to industry so that the proper implementation of the same be made.

The following members were present in meeting with Sh. Karan Avtar Singh, IAS Principal Secretary: Sh. Jagatvir Singh, Sh. Rajeev Jain, Sh. Varun Kapoor and Sh. Bachittar Singh.
