Today a delegation of All Industries & Trade forum met Sh. Manish Tiwari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India under the leadership of S. Gurmeet Singh Kular, Convenor All Industries & Trade Forum and President United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association to discuss the problems faced by the Industry as well as the people specially regarding Central Excise Duty, regarding Factory Stuffing , regarding Air Connectivity and New Shatabdi Express from Ludhiana to New Delhi etc. In this regard a memorandum was submitted to Sh. Manish Tiwari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

The main issue of the meeting was central excise on bicycle and bicycle parts and the Hon'ble Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting was requested that the 2% Central Excise Duty on complete cycle should be abolished without further loss of time so that the industry may get sigh of relief and industry may flourish to its full capacity.

Further, S. Gurmeet Singh Kular brought to the kind notice of Sh. Manish Tiwari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting that due to non availability of Air connectivity, the exporters / traders have to waste a lot of time during their journey as well as for transportation of goods. The Hon'ble Union Minister was requested to start Air cargo ways for transportation of goods and Air Jetways for the peoples.

The delegation requested the Hon'ble Union Minister to start another Shatabdi Express from Ludhiana to New Delhi so that Industry as well as the people may get sigh of relief. Sh. Manish Tiwari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting gave patience hearing and assured that he will discuss the matter with the concerned departments and do the needful as soon as possible.

In the meeting following members were present: S. Baljit Singh Lotey, Joint Secretary, Sh. Achhru Ram Gupta, Finance Secretary and Sh. Jagatvir Singh, President Ludhiana Bicycle & Engineering Park.
