The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India has nominated the M.Sc (Botany) student of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Khushmeet K. Bains, as a part of the Indian youth delegation, which will be visiting South Korea from August 7-16 under Indo-Korea Youth Exchange Programme. The main purpose of the visit is to promote mutual understanding of values and cultures amongst the youth, and to develop good relations between India and South Korea.
Recently, Kushmeet K. Bains was conferred with the prestigious "National Youth Award 2011-12," in recognition of her illustrious service in the field of education and for helping the poor slum children. She is also the recipient of Indira Gandhi NSS Award 2011, and Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh State Youth Award 2013. Dr S.K. Thind, Head, Department of Botany, and Dr Pushp Sharma, Major Advisor of Khushmeet K. Bains, congratulated her for this achievement.
