140 Students participate in NSS camp at GADVASU

12-July, 2013



NSS wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University organized a special summer camp. The theme of the camp was My Plant, My River, My Animal and My city. On the inauguration of the camp Dr. P.D. Juyal, Registrar of varsity was chief guest whereas Dr. M.A. Zaheer, Ex, Dean, College of Veterinary Science was guest of honour. Camp was organized under the supervision of Dr. S.S. Hassan NSS coordinator. In the inauguration remarks Dr. Juyal said that conservation of environment is very important. Plant, River, Animal and City are interconnected with each one. Destruction of any component will weaken the others. So its our prime duty to save all these in a balanced manner. Dr. M.A. Zaheer mentioned the role of youth in the management and awareness of environment. More than 140 students participated from College of Dairy Science & Technology, College of Fisheries, Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar. NSS badges were given to the faculty members i.e Dr. Samar Preet Singh, Dr. Gurjot Kaur Mavi and Dr. Amit. The badges were given to most active students from all the colleges. A Mourning was observed for the Uttrakhand disaster and victims. This 7 days camp will provide rigorous training to students. Camp Coordinator Dr. Hassan said that NSS inculcate good values in student community. It is a good platform to serve the nation in this manner.
