To commemorate the martyrdom day of fifth guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji, a pan-India NGO, Sukrit Trust is mobilising the masses to organise Chabeels of Bani at about 80 places in the city and surrounding areas.
According to Chief co-ordinator, S. Parvinder Singh, more than 45 gurdwaras, organisation and individuals have published over 45,000 booklets which will be distributed free of cost. The booklet – 'Sukh Ghar Lai Jai' – includes life sketch of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji and selected messages from Sri Sukhmani Sahib.
Those who have published – 'Sukh Ghar Lai Jai' include Gurdwara Sarabha Nagar, Phase-2 Dugri, Housing Board BRS Nagar, Mochpura Bazar, Vigass Foundation, Prabhat Nagar, Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar, Goraya, Sharma Book Depot (Tarn Taran), Sukrit International Public School (Patti and Zira), Rajwant Hospital (Doraha), Bawa Traders (Jalandhar), Supreme Agrofoods, Focal point, Teaching Faculty, Punjab Agricultural University, etc.
It is noteworthy that Sukhmani Sahib is the most popular bani composed by the fifth guru. The volunteers will exhort people to read and contemplate Sukhmani Sahib. Water quenches the physical thirst but Gurbani quenches the spiritual thirst and takes one to the stage of bliss, said Parminder Singh. More than 100 Volunteers are working day and night to spread the message of Saheedi Gurpurb. A book, 'Sukhan Di Mani' – having the full text with meanings of Sri Sukhmani Sahib will also be distributed in various hospitals, bus stand, railway station etc.
