MEETING OF THE OFFICE BEARERS OF UCPMA WAS HELD UNDER THE PRESIDENTSHIP OF SH. GURMEET SINGH KULAR PRESIDENT OF UNITED CYCLE & PARTS MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION ON 03.06.2013 FOR DISCUSSION REGARDING ACD BEING CHARGED BY PUNJAB STATE POWER CORPORATION LIMITED FROM ALL CATEGORIES CONSUMERS.

OUR ASSOCIATION WHICH HAS A PATRONAGE OF THE MORE THAN 2250 MEMBERS STRONGLY CRITICIZE THE ACD CHARGES BEING CALLED FROM THE CONSUMERS WHICH WILL MAKE THE ADVERSE POSITION OF THE CYCLE INDUSTRY OF THE CITY PUNJAB STATE WHICH IS ALREADY UNDER RECESSION DUE TO NON AVAILABILITY OF THE MAN POWER AND NEARBY STATES WHO ARE ENJOYING THE BENEFIT OF THE BEING TAX HOLYDAY STATES. INSTEAD OF MITIGATING THE MISERY OF THE CYCLE INDUSTRY THE DEPARTMENT IS GOING TO INCREASE THE SAME BY PUTTING ADDITIONAL BURDEN OF ACD. THE CYCLE INDUSTRY IS ALREADY IN FINANCIAL CRUNCH AND HAS TO CONTINUANCE VARIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE ACD CHARGES WILL FURTHER DEBILITATE THE PRODUCTION, SQUEEZE LIQUIDITY AND THROUGH IT OUT OF COMPETITION IN THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKET . IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT TO ROLL BACK THE ACD CHARGES FROM THE CONSUMERS FAILING WHICH THE ASSOCIATION WILL BE CONSTRAINED TO HAVE A DHARNA IN PROTEST OF THIS INCREASE ALONG WITH JANTA SMALL SCALE MFRS. ASSOCIATION ON DATED 06.06.2013. IT IS HOPED THAT THE DEPARTMENT WILL EXCEED TO OUR REQUEST TO GIVE RELIEF TO THE INDUSTRY WHOSE GROWTH HAS BECOME STAND STILL BECAUSE OF THIS ADDITIONAL BURDEN OF ACD.

THE CASE REGARDING VAT REFUND I.E. VERIFICATION OF FOUR STAGE OF PURCHASE AND BANK CHARGES ON VAT REFUND WERE DISCUSSED AS THEY ARE SEEMS NO RESULT INSTEAD OF PERSONAL REQUEST OF THE ASSOCIATION AS WELL AS SENDING REQUEST TO THE EXCISE AND TAXATION COMMISSIONER LUDHIANA. THE INDUSTRIALISTS HAVE TO FACE DIFFICULTY IN THIS RESPECT AND HUGE AMOUNT OF VAT REFUND IS LYING PENDING WITH THE DEPARTMENT. IN ORDER TO GIVE RELIEF TO THE PARTIES DECISION REGARDING THE ABOVE POINTS SHOULD BE TAKEN WITHOUT FURTHER LOSS OF TIME SO THAT THE BENEFICIERS HAVE A SIGH OF RELIEF. IN VIEW OF THE PROGRESS OF PROFORMA SUBMISSION, THE DATE FOR SAME HAS BEEN EXTENDED UP TO 15 JUNE 2013.

SH. INDERJIT SINGH NAVYUG, SR. VICE PRESIDENT, SH. HARJIT SINGH SONDH, VICE PRESIDENT SH. PARDEEP WADHAWAN, SECRETARY, SH. BALJIT SINGH LOTEY, JOINT SECRETARY, SH. AJIT KUMAR, PROP. SECRETARY AND SH. ACHHRU RAM GUPTA FINANCE SECRETARY WERE PRESENT IN THE MEETING.
