Rahul Dravid, Stephen Fleming go gaga over Shane Watson

May 14, 2013,JAIPUR:-

Extraordinary. Out-of-the-box. Astonishing. Amazing. Dramatic. These were some of the terms that Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming used to describe Shane Watson\'s innings on Sunday.

\"This was completely out of the blue,\" the New Zealander said after a Watson blitz fetched Rajasthan Royals a five-wicket win over the Super Kings.

\"It was amazing the way he just changed his game at the flip of a switch,\" Fleming said. \"On a wicket where most of the batsmen struggled, he played an outstanding innings. We know what he is capable of, but today was something else. He looked so different from everyone today.\"

The Super Kings coach also complimented Stuart Binny, who started off the carnage with a six off Ashwin.

Royals skipper Rahul Dravid wasn\'t as amazed as Fleming. Having seen Watson from up close, the veteran Indian is aware of the Aussie\'s prowess with the bat. \"You hope that he plays like that every day,\" Dravid said. \"He is a genuine match-winner, a game changer.\"

Dravid said that the batting between overs 11 and 16 was the best he had ever seen. \"Watson and Binny batted brilliantly,\" he said. \"It is the finest batting for four-five overs that I have seen.\" Coming from a player who has experienced top-flight cricket for almost 20 years, it says a lot.

\"We have seen some fantastic innings recently,\" Dravid continued. \"It was David Miller the other day and today, it Watson.\"

Binny has impressed Dravid immensely this season. \"He has improved a lot as a cricketer,\" the skipper said. \"He has responded very well. It is not easy to bowl three good overs and then come back to play an innings like that. We always tell him to back his abilities. Hopefully the national selectors are watching him.\"

The wicket had good pace and bounce and the Royals, for the second time here this season, went in with an all-pace attack. \"It was the five-seamer kind of wicket,\" Dravid said. \"It was a really good track. In fact, Jaipur has the best wicket in this competition.\"

While Super Kings might have erred in including Ashwin for this match, picking Vikramjeet Malik for the match was a gamble that paid off for Dravid. \"He is experienced and has been doing the job for Himachal Pradesh,\" Dravid said. \"We had faith in him.\" Dravid reminded that Vikramjeet was the 24th player they had used in this tournament. \"That\'s our strength: flexibility and teamwork.\"
