Johannesburg, May 3 cricketer Jacques Kallis has further aspirations for playing at both Test and one-day international level despite his revelation that he did not wish to be considered for the Proteas\' squad for the looming ICC Champions Trophy in England.
Confirming Kallis\' future aspirations, his long-time manager Dave Rundle said that the cricket great felt that he needed some time out of the game, although he added that they are still planning for the next two years, Sport24 reports.
Rundle further said that Kallis still wants to continue playing for the Proteas, especially in Tests and the next World Cup, adding that his decision is temporary and has no effect on his ongoing commitments to South Africa.
According to media reports, however, the withdrawal of Kallis, who is playing in the ongoing Indian Premier League, may have ended his goal of a swansong World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand in 2015, or even his future Test aspirations.
The report further said that the player also needs to be aware of the potential pitfalls of not making himself available to the national team\'s ODI plans as the last of his 321 appearances in the 50-overs code was against New Zealand at Napier in February 2012. (ANI)
