PAU TO HOST INDIAN MUSHROOM CONFERENCE

LUDHIANA, APRIL 15:-----



Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will host two-day Indian Mushroom Conference-2013 on April 16-17. Dr. Amrik Singh Sidhu, Director, Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore will inaugurate the conference in the Wheat Auditorium of PAU tomorrow at 10.00 a.m. Dr. U.S. Shivhare, Director, CIPHET will be the Gust of Honour and Dr. S.S.Gosal, Director of Research, PAU will preside over the inaugural session. The conference is being organized by the Mushroom Society of India in collaboration with Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan.







According to Dr. P.K.Khanna, Registrar, PAU and Chairman Organizing Committee, the theme of the conference is \"From diversity to diversification for nutritional and environmental security\". About 150 delegates from all over the country are participating in this conference which will provide a platform for interactions on latest trends in mushroom research and development in the country. The conference will also provide an opportunity for mushroom growers/entrepreneurs to interact with mushroom scientists and know the latest technology related to mushroom farming, informed Dr. Khanna.
