INDUCTION TRAINING FOR NEWLY RECRUITED ADOs CONCLUDES AT PAMETI

LUDHIANA, APRIL 1:--



Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) at PAU campus organized one-month Induction Training from 4-30 March, 2013 for first batch of 57 newly recruited Agricultural Development Officers in the Department of Agriculture, Punjab. Dr M.S. Mahal, Director, PAMETI in his introductory remarks highlighted the achievements in Punjab Agriculture and need for this training. Dr Mangal Singh Sandhu, Director of Agriculture, Punjab shared his experiences while working in the department, made them aware about their job responsibilities and asked them to attain as much knowledge as they can to be a successful extension functionary.



Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU explained the effective research-extension-farmer linkages and diversification options for Punjab state while Dr S.P.S. Brar explained documentation and operationalization of Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) and cafeteria of activities under ATMA scheme. Further, participants were made aware about a wide range of technical and practical aspects in the field of agriculture and allied subjects.



Besides, the trainees were also explained about NABARD schemes, official writing and office management skills, personality development, general health care, stress & conflict management.
