Indian Rupee gains marginally in opening trade

The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 54.15 per dollar on Friday as against previous day\'s close of 54.22.

The euro stayed above 1.30 to the dollar. The dollar index was around 82.75 levels.

Pramit Brahmbhatt, Alpari feels the rupee is likely to trade steady today, supported by a positive equity market, assurance from government on taking positive steps to revive the economy and hopes of good dollar inflows.

According to him, however, a strong dollar in the international market will keep the rupee under check. \"The range for the day is seen between 54-54.55/USD,\" he added.
