Double murder rocks Gurdaspur village as burglars kill two women


Burglars murdered two women in Bhoma village near Sri Hargobindpur police station about 35 kms from here on Friday night.

According to the police, a newly married bride and her mother-in-law were killed during wee hours on yesterday.

While IG Border Range R P mittal, SSP Batala Tulsi Ram visited on the spot and an FIR under section 460 of IPC has been registered in this regards.

Batala SSPTulsi Ram, said that deceased has been identified as Sharanpreet Kaur (23) and Baljit Kaur (55) of Village Bhoma falling under PS Ghumaan.

SSP said that complainant Labh Singh son of late Mohinder Singh told that he got married on Jan 28, 2013 with Sharanpreet Kaur. He lived along with his wife and mother Baljit Kaur.

Labh singh said on firday night night at about 9 pm he closed the main gate of the door and went to the fields to start the motor. At about 10 pm electricity was gone and awaited light he slept into the fields.

On Saturday morning when he came back from the field, no one can opened the door. He entered the home from his uncle's residence and saw that his wife was gagged and killed and his mother's dead body also lay on the bed.

He told that about 10 thousand rupees and some gold jewellery were missing from the home.

SSP said that police have started the investigation and the bodies were sent to the Civil Hospital for post mortem.
