ADMISSION PROCESS BEGINS AT PAU, APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR VARIOUS ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

LUDHIANA, APRIL 23:



The admission process for the academic session 2013-14 has commenced at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The University has invited applications from the candidates residing in Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh for the admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and diploma course.



In the undergraduate programmes (four-year), the PAU is offering B.Sc Agri (Hons.), B.Sc Biotechnology (Hons.), B.Tech Food Technology (Hons.), B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering), B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science, B.Sc (Hons.) Fashion Designing, and B.Sc (Hons.) Nutrition and Dietetics. Besides, the University is offering B.Sc. Agri. (Hons.) six-year (after matric) at Ludhiana campus and at the Institute of Agriculture, Gurdaspur. The University is also offering five-year Integrated M.Sc (Hons.) Programmes (after 10+2) in Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Zoology.



The M.Sc programmes are being offered in the disciplines of Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Nematology, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, Extension Education, Food Technology, Forestry, Biotechnology, Agrometeorology, and Horticulture (Fruit Science, Floriculture and Landscaping, and Vegetable Science). In addition, the University is offering M.Sc programmes in Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Microbiology, Zoology, Physics, Apparel and Textile Science, Fashion Designing, Food and Nutrition, Family Resource Management, Clothing and Textiles, Human Development, and Home Science Extension and Communication Management. Apart from this, Master in Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), MBA (admission on the basis of CMAT), and MBA (Agri-Business) are also being offered.



The PAU is also offering M.Tech programmes in the disciplines of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering; Soil and Water Engineering; Processing and Food Engineering; Civil Engineering (Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering/Structural Engineering); Computer Science and Engineering; and Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS). The diploma course is being offered in Hybrid Seed Production Technology (two semesters).

Khanna, PAU Registrar, said that the prospectus can be obtained from the Centre for Communication and International Linkages, PAU, Ludhiana, and the Incharge, Institute of Agriculture, Gurdaspur. The Prospectus and Application Form can be downloaded from PAU website. For course, details, eligibility criteria, intake, entrance tests, fee and other details, the interested candidates can visit PAU website (www.pau.edu) or enquire through e-mail (academic@pau.edu). The last date to apply for the academic programmes with entrance test is May 8, 2013 whereas with late fee, it is May 15, 2013. The last date to apply for the academic programmes without entrance test is June 18, 2013 whereas with late fee, it is June 25, 2013.
