PAU TO HOLD FOURTH KISAN MELA AT PATIALA ON MARCH 11

LUDHIANA, MARCH 8:



The fourth Kisan Mela of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will be organized on March 11 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rauni (Patiala). The mela will be based on the theme "Ghar di sabzi-dal ugao: sihat banao, paise bachao (Grow vegetables and pulses in your household kitchen garden: Save money and Stay healthy)." Mr. G. S. Sandhu, Financial Commissioner (Development), Punjab, will inaugurate the mela while Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, will preside over the mela.



Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said that the mela aims at familiarizing the farming community with the advanced farm practices and agri-techniques and technologies for forthcoming Kharif season. In addition, a technical session will be organized wherein the subject experts will address and respond to all the queries of the farmers pertaining to agriculture and allied occupations. Dr Gill told that an exhibition, highlighting new innovations and latest farm technologies designed by the PAU experts, will also be put on this occasion.



Meanwhile, the Rauni (Patiala) mela will be followed by the melas at PAU campus (Ludhiana) on March 15-16, Faridkot on March 19 and Bathinda on March 21, respectively.
