PAU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT AND BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING PRESIDENT

LUDHIANA, MARCH 8:



The Alumni Association (Ludhiana Chapter) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a get-together to welcome its new President, Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture and to bid farewell to its outgoing President, Dr D.S. Cheema, former Dean, College of Agriculture, PAU.



On this occasion, the former President of PAU Teachers' Association, Dr G.S. Sandhu recited a special poem highlighting the salient contributions of Dr Cheema, who retired in February 2013. The alumni applauded Dr Cheema for his Presidency and for updating the poetic record of the association, right from 1934 to 2013. They also accorded a warm welcome to Dr Dhaliwal as the new President of the association.



In his address, Dr Cheema highlighted the reorganization of all the chapters in Ludhiana, Chandigarh and foreign countries like USA, Canada and Australia.



Dr Dhaliwal emphasized on further strengthening the association and sought cooperation of all the members in updating the record.



Dr L.S. Brar, Secretary (Ludhiana Chapter) extended his sincere thankfulness to Dr Cheema for providing best facilities to the Chapter.



The members of the Ludhiana Chapter presented robes of honour to both the scientists. Among others present there were Dr D.R. Bhumbla, former Vice-Chancellor, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Dr S.S. Johl, Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda; and nearly 150 members of the association.
