ITALIAN AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY DEMONSTRATED AT PAU KISAN MELA

Italian Agricultural Machinery attracted thousands of the farmers and was a big show at PAU Kisan Mela. Around 20 Italian Farm Machinery Manufacturers have come all the way from Italy to demonstrate their equipments at PAU Kisan Mela on March 15-16, 2013. These machines include Soil Work Tools like Rotavators, Spading Machines, Precision Planters, Nursery Transplanters, Fertilizer Applicators, Sprayers and Straw Handling Machines like Rakes and Balers. Italian Machinery was shown through live demonstration on an area of about 5 acres provided by the GADVASU. The demonstration of Italian Machinery at PAU is a big leap in mutual collaboration between Punjab Government including PAU and Region of Government of Italy Emilia Romagna.



The Farm Machinery show is a result of a delegation including experts from PAU sent by the Chief Minister of Punjab to Italy in the year 2010 and 2012 to identify the technologies that can suit local conditions. Delegations discussed/agreed for a mutual cooperation for transfer of technology and to develop possibilities of joint ventures (JVs) for manufacturing of Agricultural Machinery in Punjab and India. A large number of farmers and local Machinery Manufacturers have taken very keen interest in seeing the live demonstration of these Machines. The Kisan Mela was attended by senior Officers of Italian Organizations like Fedder Unacoma – Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers of Italy and Regional Chamber of Commerce. The show has been organized by mutual collaboration of Punjab Agricultural University, Government of Punjab, Regional Government of Italy, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Embassy of Italy in India and Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association India (AMMA).
