BLOOD DONATION AND EYE CHECK-UP CAMPS ORGANISED AT PAU

LUDHIANA, MARCH 19:



The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Voluntary Blood Donors Association organized the blood donation and eye check-up camps here today. Both the camps were organized in association with the NCC wing of PAU; Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana; and Red Cross Blood Bank, Ludhiana.



Inaugurating the camps, the PAU Registrar, Dr P.K. Khanna expressed concern over the rising drug consumption among the youth in the Punjab state. Observing that the blood donation saves the precious lives of many people, he lauded the students' efforts in the organization of the camps and their growing interest in the social activities.



Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture, also donated the blood. Stating that the youth of today are the future leaders of tomorrow, he said "If young generation serves the society with dedication, the nation can rise above social evils and petty issues."



Dr Harmeet Singh, Officer Incharge, NCC, informed that about 300 people including the faculty, students and the non-teaching employees of PAU donated the blood during the camp.



Dr PPS Lubana, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Dr S.S. Kang, Senior Plant Pathologist, and Dr P.K. Chhuneja, Beekeeping expert were also present on this occasion.
