AGRO-PROCESSING COMPLEX ENTREPRENEURS’ ASSOCIATION FORMED AT PAU

LUDHIANA, MARCH 4:



An "Agro-Processing Complex Entrepreneurs' Association" was formed at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). S. Chamkaur Singh, Jodha Agro-Food Products, Ludhiana, was elected as the President of the association unanimously. The other office bearers were also elected.



The Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Dr PPS Lubana appreciated the formation of such an association and said that it will go a long way in improving the overall functioning of complexes.



The Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Dr Ashok Kumar, highlighted that a large number of complexes, established in various parts of the Punjab state under the guidance of the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, are running successfully for the processing of cereals, pulses, oil seeds and turmeric. Such complexes add to the income and provide employment to the rural youth, he said, adding that a monthly meeting of association will also be held in which lectures from the department and other related agencies will be organized.



Dr Jarnail Singh, Senior Research Engineer, while highlighting the need for such an association, said that it will provide the entrepreneurs a platform to discuss their problems and seek solutions for the same.
