A delegation of United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association met with the Honb'le Union Minister of Railways under the Presidentship of Sh. Gurmeet Singh Kular, President on 20.02.2013 and appraised him of the problems being faced by the peoples. The following points were discussed with him in detail:

1. REGARDING NEW RESERVATION COUNTERS IN LUDHIANA CITY :

He was told that people have to face problems regarding the reservation due to shortage of reservation counters. He was requested that at least five more new reservation counters be started in different place of Ludhiana city so that people may not have to stand in long queues for hours.



2. REGARDING CANAL RAILWAY OVER BRIDGE :

With the passing of time the population of city has increased exorbitantly with the result the traffic problem has become a headeck for the administration. The people specially the industrialists residing in Sarabha Nagar, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Agar Nagar who have their units in focal points have to face very awkward situation because they have to cross two railway crossing of Ferozepur Line and Dhuri Line which remains almost closed and they will have to wait for hours to cross them on express way on sidwan Canal.

In order to overcome this difficulty, it is our humble request that a Flyover bridge should be constructed on these railway lines so that people may have a sigh of relief.

3. REGARDING MODERNIZATION OF DHANDARI KALAN RAILWAY STATION :

It has been observed that due to the poring of outside Labour from Bihar and U.P into the City their remains very congestion on the main railway station of the Ludhiana which causes hindrance to the people who have to board the other side train going to Delhi and Bombay side. In order to bring this situation in control it is suggested that the trains coming from U.P and Bihar side should the stopped at Dhandari Railway Station so that general public should have a sigh of relief in this respect.

Further Sh. Gurmeet Singh Kular suggested that Dhandari Railway station should be modernized with all facilities available as at the main railway station of Ludhiana.



4. REGARDING NONSTOP NEW STABADI EXPRESS FROM LUDHIANA TO DELHI:

The delegation requested the Honb'le Union Railway Minister to start the NEW NONSTOP STABADI EXPRESS from Ludhiana to Delhi because their no air connectivity facility is available to people. This will also help to decrease the congestion at the main railway station.

5. FOCAL POINT RAILWAY OVER BRIDGE CONNECTIVITY :



It was brought to the notice of the Honb'le Union Railway Minister that more than half of the industries are established in the focal point of Ludhiana but due to non availability of infrastructure facilities i.e. roads etc. people have to wait to cross the railway line. He was requested that a separate railway over bridge be constructed so that people may not have to stop at railway crossing line for hours.



The Honb'le Union Railway Minister Sh. Pawan Bansal gave patient hearing and promises to look into the matter immediately. He informed the delegation that 970 railway stations in the country have been marked as Adarsh (Model) Station. He told that the Ludhiana railway station will be soon renovated and upgraded to an Adarsh (Model) Station.
