HARSHITA SINGH THE BEST ATHLETE OF GCG

The second day of the annual athletic meet continued with full zeal. Honorable Mrs. Parampal Kaur Maluka was the Chief Guest and the guest of honour was Mrs. Surjeet Kaur Maluka, additional state project director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Punjab Govt and Mrs. Satinder Kaur Bisla. The worthy Principal Mrs. Gurminder Kaur warmly welcomed the dignitaries. In her welcome speech she addressed the students that they should give equal weightage to sports in their life along with studies, which will enhance their physical and mental abilities. She said that if you wish to excel in your life, you should be fit to bear the stress of competitive life of today.

Mrs. Maluka, in her address to the young girls, she marked the relevance of education in the life of students. Education strengthens the role of girl in our society and fosters the new ideology. While distributing the prizes to the winners she congratulated and wished luck for their bright future. She emphasized that their present achievement have paved the way for their road to success. They should keep on working hard and bring laurels to their nation. She also lauded Harshita Singh (BA-II) who was declared the best athlete for the year. It is important to mention that she belongs to U.P. and she is studying in G.C.G. Deepali is the best player of the year 2012-2013.

The concluding day of the athletic meet ended with the cultural performances presented by the students. At the end the worthy Principal declared the athletic meet closed. The Rashtariya Gaan beamed everyone with the feeling of patriotism. The voteof thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sharanjit Kaur, Head of the Dept. of Physical Education.The following are the results of the events held during the meet:
