GADVASU to hold Athletic Meet on February 27th

All the arrangements have been made to organize the 7th Athletic Meet of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University Ludhiana. This information was shared by Dr. S.P.S. Sangha Director Student's welfare GADVASU. While informing about the event he said that Dr. V.K. Taneja Vice Chancellor GADVASU will inaugurate the meet on 27th of February 2013, at 9.30 A.M. at Punjab Agricultural University Track.

Manjit Singh Assistant Director & organizing secretary of the Athletic Meet informed that after emancipation of the University students are doing well in sports & Co curricular activities from the very first day. Now the University is completing its seventh year and we are organizing seventh Athletic Meet also. He said that in campus colleges of university named college of veterinary science, College of Fisheries and College of Dairy Science & Technology will participate along with veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani (Bathinda) and Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar. The numbers of the sports persons are increasing every year as well as quality of sports also.

Dr. P.N. Dwivedi, President Sports Committee GADVASU revealed that all the arrangements to facilitate the sportspersons have been completed. Duties for first aid, record keeping, track related requirements have been ear marked to all the concerned. He said that due to heavy work load of studies students mostly remain engage in their books but this type of free, cheerful day provide them a break to rejuvenate. The students are busy to create new slogans and banners to boost their favourite ones, where as participants are practicing with full zeal for their events, he added. A spectacular and peppy Horse Show and Cultural Programme will be add on bonus events in the concluding function, he informed.

Dr. V.K. Taneja Vice Chancellor extended his best wishes for the participants. He hoped that the students of GADVASU will win laurels for University and nation in the field of education as well as sports also.
