Vet Varsity Professor as member of expert panel at international conference

23rd January 2013. A noted rabies expert of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Professor of Veterinary Patholgy and In-Charge of Rabies Research-cum-Diagnostic Laboratory that caters to the entire northern region for diagnostic services of rabies, has been invited as member of the expert panel during the 17th Asian Regional Meeting and International Conference on the theme "Strengthening of Rabies Diagnosis and Dog Population Control in the Indian Sub-continent" from January 28th-30th, 2013 at Bangalore. The invitation has been extended to Dr Singh based on the merit of his publication of research work on rabies in national and inter-national journals.

This conference is being supported by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA), Association for Prevention and Control of Rabies in India (APCRI), Crucell Holland and Dog Trust International.

International experts on Rabies, such as Dr. Charles Rupprecht (USA), Dr. Lillian Oriciari (USA), Dr.Tony Fooks, (UK) Dr.Wilfred Marissan (Netherlands), Dr. Elly Hibby (UK), Dr. Jack Reece (UK) Dr.Pal Harischandra (Sri Lanka) are participating in this conference, in addition to the eminent scientists from India.

Dr Charan Kamal Singh who shall be co-chairing the technical session of the conference shall highlight the achievements of the research work on rabies conducted at GADVASU, Ludhiana among international experts of rabies during this prestigious conference.

In addition to participants from India, there will be representation from Australia, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

Dr Bhupinder Singh Sandhu of Veterinary Pathology is also undergoing training in the training workshop on Direct Rapid Immuno-histochemistry Test (dRIT) for Rabies diagnosis that is being conducted on the sidelines of this conference.
