LUDHIANA, JANUARY 31:
Aiming at generating awareness and sensitizing the youth towards the issue of declining social and moral values, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has initiated the process of promoting values and culture that fitsto the needs of the modern times. Eminent speakers from different disciplines are being invited to become a part of weekly interactive sessions. Three guest lectures have already been delivered by S. Hardeep Brar, Founder of Maheeda Organization and by Brahmkumari Sister Sushma on various aspects of human values, morals and ethics.
Giving details, Dr Neelam Grewal, Dean, College of Home Science, said that the activity is a part of a PAU course entitled "Human Values in Education."
"There is growing universal concern over the erosion of values in the present times because of unprecedented social changes, dislocating traditional values and conflict between traditional and new values," she observed. The course lays emphasis on generating conviction and commitment to moral values for improving quality of life, highlighted Dr Grewal. The course has been greatly appreciated by the students and those who have delivered guest lectures.
