MEETING OF APC ENTREPRENEURS HELD AT PAU

LUDHIANA, JANUARY 23:



A meeting of Agro-Processing Complex (APC) Entrepreneurs was held today at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the formation of association under the guidance of the Department of Processing and Food Engineering (P&FE) of the University. Dr PPS Lubana, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; Dr P.K. Khanna, Additional Director of Research (Food Science, Nutrition and Engineering), Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Additional Director of Extension Education, Dr Ramandeep S. Jassal, Associate Professor of Business Management, Dr Ashok Kumar, Head of P&FE and the entrepreneurs from different parts of Punjab, who are successfully running APC, attended the meet.

Dr Lubana and Dr Khanna encouraged the participants to come forward and ensure full support to them.

Dr A. Kumar said that the major motive of the association formation is to guide the entrepreneurs to go in for proper processing, packaging, labeling, storage, quality standards and marketing of their products.

Dr Dhaliwal highlighted the importance of quality standards and marketing strategies while Dr R. Singh said that the formation of association aims at the overall upliftment of the agro-based business.

The participants also expressed their views and sought solutions from the PAU on various issues pertaining to quality control, financial assistance, marketing, labeling, etc. for the enhancement of their agro-based business. The faculty members of P&FE department also participated in the meet. Meanwhile, the next meeting to finalize the formation of the association will be held on February 21, 2013.
