PAU TO HOLD TRAINING COURSE FOR RURAL YOUTH IN AGRO-BASED INDUSTRIES

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 24:



The Department of Processing and Food Engineering of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will be organizing a training course on "Agro-based Industries" for rural youth from February 4- 8, 2013.



Giving details, Dr Ashok Kumar, Head of Processing and Food Engineering, said that during the course, the rural youth will be equipped with the basic knowledge about the processing of agricultural produce and the required machinery. In addition to the processing of wheat, paddy, oil seeds which can be started in the processing centre, the basic knowledge of processing of turmeric, honey and fruits and vegetables will also be given, he informed. The course will be of five-day duration and will hold lectures on AGMARK certification and marketing, said Dr Kumar. Those interested in getting the training can send the applications to the Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, PAU, Ludhiana.
