STUDENTS OF GADVASU SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES NCC CAMP

LUDHIANA, 24-Oct-2012



National Cadet Corps (NCC) organized combined annual training camps (CATC) throughout the country to develop leadership qualities, bring out national character and to motivate youth for joining Indian army. One such CATC was organized at NCC Academy Malout. Dr. Mandeep Singla, appointed as care taker officer, reported that 69 boys and 41 girls of 1 (Pb.) R & V Sqn. NCC, Ludhiana participated in the camp.

The camp was organized by 5 (Punjab) Girls Battalion NCC, Moga under the command of the Camp Commandant Lt. Col. Manjinder Singh. During the camp, Col. Narender Singh, commanding officer, 1 (Pb.) R&V Sqdn. NCC, Ludhiana visited the camp, and motivated the cadets to join Indian army and discussed the benefits of joining national forces as career. The cadets were also given training on weapons, drill, shooting, civil defence, map reading, leadership traits, community games and other military subjects.

The various cultural activities like solo dance, group dance, debate, declamation, solo song, group song, painting, slogan competitions were also held at the camp. The GADVASU students not only participated in all the activities, but have also won prizes for their company. The students also got an opportunity of firing .22 rifle. Brig. S S Gill, commander NCC, Group Headquarter, Ludhiana also visited the camp to evaluate the progress and facilities at the camp.
