PAU GOLDEN JUBILEE YOUTH FESTIVAL CONCLUDES: HOME SCIENCE DECLARED OVERALL WINNERS

LUDHIANA, OCTOBER 26:



College of Home Science was declared overall champions of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Golden Jubilee Inter-College Youth Festival which concluded yesterday evening in the Open Air Theatre of the University. The concluding function saw the participation of students in folk dance (men & women), one-act play, skit and mono-acting events. A galaxy of stars from theatre and film world including Dolly Malkiat, Neelu Sharma, Beenu Dhillon, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Davvy Singh and Amrinder Gill, were also present in the concluding function as judges for various events. PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon gave away the prizes. Mr. Rahul Tiwari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest of the evening.



In his address to the students, Mr. Tiwari said, Youth Festival provides an opportunity to students to express their feelings through various art forms. \"Participation in co-curricular activities helps in the overall development of one\'s personality\", he said. Vice Chancellor Dr. Dhillon urged the students to keep a proper balance between academics and co-curricular activities. \"Both are equally important\", he said.



Earlier, Dr. D. S. Cheema, Director Students Welfare welcomed the guests.
