Punjab Agricultural University Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon has condoled the untimely demise of Amrita Chaudhry, Principal Correspondent of Indian Express. Describing Ms Chaudhary as a bold and upright journalist, Dr Dhillon, said her death was a great shock and a big loss, not only for the journalist fraternity but also for PAU where she studied. The University always felt proud of having produced journalists like her.
Directors and Deans of the various constituent colleges of PAU have also expressed their commiserations. Dr H. S. Sehgal, Additional Director of Communication, said that Amrita had carved a niche for herself in the field of Journalism with her incisive thought and exemplary investigative skills.
In a condolence meeting, the faculty and staff of Centre for Communication & International Linkages and Department of Journalism , Languages & Culture remembered her and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul. A two minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect during the ongoing PAU Golden Jubilee Youth Festival.
