GCW Girls won the Basketball tournament for the third time held at Panjab University Chandigarh from 15th Oct. 2012 to 18th Oct.,2012 .Along with this team added another feather in their hat by grabbing IInd Position in IMG Reliance Punjab State College league and won a cash prize of Rs.40,000/- .
The worthy Principal of the college Mrs. Gurminder Kaur congratulated the players for putting their efforts and bringing laurels to the college. She has also encouraged them for maintaining the tradition of winning the championship.
The GCW team won the tournament by beating GGSW College , Dasuya College and GCG College by 53-16, 68-36 and 57-26 points respectively. Prof. Sharanjit Kaur HOD Physical Education Department) and Incharge of the team and Prof. Balbir Kumar showed their confidence in the players. They motivated them to prove their dynamism in the game. The Sports president ( Ranveer Kaur) and the Captain ( Rajbir Kaur) assured their Coach Sh. Mohan Lal that they will play with the same zeal in the forth coming tournament.
