VEERPAL KAUR CROWNED MISS FRESHER (HOSTEL)

Hostel Fresher's Night was organized on Wednesday evening in the Govt. College for Women. The worthy Principal Mrs.Gurminder Kaur presided over the function as the chief guest.

She said that she was happy with the performance of the hostel students in the academic. This is due to the proper discipline maintained in the hostel.In the session 2011-2012 the hostel students stood first,second and third in the university that is due to proper academic atmosphere in the hostel. She also stated that sports students of the hostel should give some time to their academic. by attending regular classes as studies play a prominent role for an individual to develop the overall personality so keeping this in mind now all the students should give proper attention towards their studies. Prof. Kishan Singh, Prof.Mohinder kaur Grewal, Mrs Narinder Saini,Mrs. Kamlesh ,Ms Nirmaljeet Kaur, Ms Sonia, Ms Anita and Mrs. Rosy Sapra also graced the occasion.

The various performances on Punjabi and Western songs glorified the function. The hostel head girl Ashna, deputy head girl general and discipline incharge Mandeep hosted the function.

Veerpal Kaur (B.Sc-I) was crowned Ms. Fresher while Gurjeet Kaur(B.Sc-II) and Pawandeep Kaur (B.A-I) was declared as first and second runner ups respectively. The title of crowing glory was secured by Ekta (B.A-I), Gurjeet Kaur (B.Sc-II) was entitled as Ms Catwalk, Priyanka (B.Sc.-I) was given the title of Ms.Personality.Ms. Photogenic face was awarded Pardeep (10+1) and Gurneet Kaur (B.Sc-I) as Ms.Elegant.

Towards the end Principal graced the occasion by having the question answers session regarding cleanliness with the students. She also inspired the students with her enlightening words & concluded the function with the best wishes for them.
