The Kisan Mela at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) spread the awareness among the rural population about the social evils, eating into the vitals of the society. At one of the stalls of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Sukhwinder Singh Lote from Dhuri conveyed a message to the rural people by using his talent of writing poetry in an empty glass bottle:
"I am whisky,
I am very bad,
If your drink me,
Problems will be created,
You will be caught by police,
There will be court cases,
You will be penalized,
Please do not drink me,
Live a peaceful life."
Besides, the farmers evinced interest in solar water heater and solar powered lights, latest agri-technologies, new seeds and various farm machinery and equipments.
