TWO PAU KISAN CLUB MEMBERS BAG PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

LUDHIANA, JULY 18:-----



Two farmer members of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Kisan Club bagged prestigious awards during 84th Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Foundation Day celebrations, held on July 16 at National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NASC) Symposium Hall, New Delhi. Mr Sharad Pawar, Hon\'ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Food Processing, conferred the "Jagjiwan Ram Abhinav Innovative Farmer Award 2011" and "NG Ranga Farmer Award 2011" on the farmers namely, Rajwinderpal S. Rana and Gurcharan S. Mann, respectively. Mr. Rana has been awarded for Zone one, with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 alongwith the equal amount of travel grant, for the promotion of his achievements and motivating farmers in his perspective zone. Mr. Mann of district Bathinda has been presented Rs 1 lakh for excelling in diversified agriculture. The PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon, and Director of Extension Education, Dr. M.S.Gill have congratulated these farmers and said that other farmers should derive inspiration from them. The president of the Club, Mr PPS Pangli also congratulated both the farmers for their achievements.
