PAU TO PROMOTE SPREAD OF FARM LITERATURE

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) brings out farm literature in the form of farm magazines, Changi Kheti and Progressive Farming, Package of Practices for Rabi and Kharif crops, Vegetables and Fruits in addition to bulletins on different crops. These publications are very popular among farmers as they derive the need-based knowledge for scientific farming from these. This was stated by Additional Director of Communication, Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman adding that efforts are being made for enhancing the outreach of farm literature to the masses. For this, Changi Kheti Fairs will be organized in Colleges to connect students with scientific knowledge on farming. This will benefit their farming in villages. The people and organizations who want to act as agents for spreading PAU farm literature can contact the Business Manager, Centre for Communication and International Linkages, of PAU. The Business Manager, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma said that the agents are given discount at approved rates. Elaborating further, he said that a discount of 30%, 35% and 40% is given to those agents who buy atleast 20, 50 and more than 50 copies of Changi Kheti/ Progressive Farming, respectively. A discount of 15% is permissible to agents who buy other publications in bulk. The interested ones should contact the Business Manager, said Dr. Dhiman.
