PAU TO IMPART PRACTICAL TRAINING IN FLOWER PRODUCTION AND LANDSCAPING

LUDHIANA, JULY 21:-----



A two-day practical training in "Flower production and landscaping" will be organized for farmers and farm women on July 24-25 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The training course will be coordinated by PAU Directorate of Extension Education.



During the training, the PAU experts of the Department of Floriculture and Landscaping will delve upon the importance of flower production and landscaping, chrysanthemum propagation techniques, propagation of ornamental plants and their marketing and growing of chrysanthemum for exhibition purpose, informed Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education. Besides, the emphasis will be on nursery practices in floriculture, cultivation of gladiolus, lawns maintenance practices and flower production techniques in marigold and annuals, added he. In addition to the disease management of ornamental crops, identification of trees with thrust on their planning and management for beautification will be the other focus area, said Dr Gill. The registration for the training course will be held on July 24 at 9.00 a.m. at PAU Kairon Kisan Ghar, he informed.
