CPI State Conference at Ludhiana - Photo and Punjabi News attached

The three day State Conference of Communist Party of India (CPI) concluded late last night with a call to raise voice against the conspiracy to spread religious fundamentalism, to organize people against the mafiaism, to struggle against rise in prices and to participate in large number in the nationwide protest in Delhi on 1st August to press upon the government to bring the bill on food security in the coming session of the Parliament.

Com Sudhakar Reddy – General Secretary CPI and Com Shameem Faizee – Member Central Secretariat CPI participated in the conference. Com Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal – State Secretary of the party, presented political organizational and the report of activities which was passed after a lengthy debate. The delegates spoke on the present political and economic situation of the country as well as of the state. They dwelt at length on how to build the party particularly among youth. The conference elected a 71 member state council to manage the affairs in the coming period. This council will elect the state secretary and the executive committee in its meeting within one month. The conference passed resolutions on Education and Employment for all, Equity, Justice & Security for women, proper remuneration to the Khet Mazdoors, Safety of crops in the Kandi area, Primary education to be taken away from control of Panchayats and on food security for all citizens of India.
