The rainfall received was 4.6 mm against the monthly normal of 29.9 mm. The relative humidity was slightly higher in the month of January due to more than normal rainfall but during the month of February the RH was quite normal.

During the month of March, the maximum temperatures rose up and remained about 1.0 oC below normal during first fortnight of the month ( 24.5 oC and 26.4 oC against the normal of 25.4 oC and 27.0 oC for first & second week of March month, respectively) and came to normal during second fortnight of the month. According to IMD forecast, cloud imagery showed convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir and low/medium clouds were seen over Punjab. The western disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood moved eastwards, which has caused thundershowers over the region. A fresh western disturbance as an upper air system lies over north Pakistan & neighbourhood and an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood in lower levels. It would affect the North-west region including Punjab during next 2-3 days and duststorms/thunderstorms would occur at one or two places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. . The wheat crop is at harvest maturity but now it needs sunny days to harvest. As the moisture has increased, the farmers are advised to delay harvesting until the weather opens up.
