Professor of GADVASU becomes “Fellow” of Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Research

Ludhiana: 27-April, 2012.

Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Professor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University , Ludhiana has brought laurels to GADVASU by becoming "Fellow" of Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Research (IAAVR). The national fellowship of IAAVR is prestigious since it is awarded on the basis of competitive score card where only those scientists that have excellent professional achievements at national and international level to their credit can come to the top. Secondly, IAAVR being multi-disciplinary organization, scientists of various departments compete for the fellowship at the national level. For the year 2012, Dr Singh was awarded fellowship of IAAVR along with Dr Gaya Prasad, ADG (Animal Health), ICAR, New Delhi.

Dr Singh, who is a noted expert in the field of rabies, has earlier been Fellow also of the Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare. At the international level, Dr Singh was nominated Member of Task force of World Health Organisation for Surveillance of Rabies in Asia. At the national level, Dr Singh is member of National Steering Committee of Animal Welfare Board of India. For the state of Punjab, Dr Singh is Convener of State Committee for control of rabies in Punjab.

Dr Singh had been awarded with Shiksha Rattan Puraskar, Life Time Education Achievement Award among others awards for the significant professional contributions.
