The annual review meeting of the Network project on Insect Biosystematics is being held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on March 26-27. The meeting will be attended by eminent taxonomists from 13 centres located in different SAU\'s all over India. Giving details, Dr. Balwinder Singh, Head, Department of Entomology said that the progress of research done during the last year by different centres will be evaluated. Discussions will be held on the various identification strategies for correct identification of various insect and mite species inhabiting different cropping systems and aquatic habitats.
Dr. T.P.Rajenderan, Additional Director General (Plant Protection), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and Dr. N.K.Krishna Kumar, Director, National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects, Bengaluru will be participating in the meeting, said Dr. Singh. Dr. S.S.Gosal, Director of Research, PAU will chair the inaugural session. He said that strategies will be framed to give new directions to future research.
