PUNJAB AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY 2-DAY FARMER-SCIENTIST INTERFACE AT PAU





LUDHIANA, FEBRUARY 27:------



A two-day farmer-scientist interface will be jointly organized by the

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and

Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) on February 28 at Borlaug Wheat

Auditorium of the University. Mr S.C. Aggarwal, Chief Secretary,

Punjab, will inaugurate the exhibition and chair the technical session

on "Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture." Mr G.S.

Sandhu, Financial Commissioner, Animal Husbandry Dairy and Fisheries

(AHD&F) and Mr N.S. Kang, Financial Commissioner (Development),

Punjab, will co-chair the session while Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, PAU

Vice-Chancellor, will chair the plenary session.



Besides, the technical sessions on "Horticulture," "Live Stock and

Fisheries," "Crop Improvement," "Farm Power and Machinery,"

"Diversification" and "Secondary Agriculture" will also take place. Dr

K.R. Dhiman, Vice-Chancellor, Yashwant Singh Parmar University of

Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, Dr A.K.

Srivastava, Director, National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI),

Karnal, Dr A.S. Khera and Dr K.S. Aulakh, former PAU Vice-Chancellors,

Dr G.S. Kalkat, Chairman, State Farmers' Commission, Punjab and Dr

V.K. Taneja, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU, will chair the other technical

sessions.



During the programme, the PAU experts will equip the farmers with the

latest technological practices for efficient farm management and

improved economics. In the technical sessions, the farmers will

represent their views about the technology innovation and needs.
