PAU MADE HATRIK BY WINNING OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY

LUDHIANA, FEBRUARY 23:--



The PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon congratulated

the winning members of the contingent lauded the achievements of PAU

sportspersons who brought laurels for the University in the XIII All

India Inter-Agricultural University Sports & Games Meet for the

session 2011-12 which was organized by Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi

Vidyapeeth, Akola (Maharashtra) from February 16 to 19, 2012.



According to Director Students' Welfare, Dr Devinder Singh

Cheema, the PAU students completed hatrik by winning overall

championship trophy in sports and games meet consecutively for third

year. The PAU won 8 Gold, 1 each Silver and Bronze medals during the

meet. The PAU sportspersons got distinction in different games/events

such as Athletics the PAU won championship men section with 27 points

by winning four Gold, one Silver and one Bronze Medals.



1. Raj Kamal Singh Dhillon (COAE&T) won Gold Medals each in Long Jump

and High Jump.

2. Amrit Pal Singh, (COAE&T) won Gold Medals each in Discus Throw & Shot Put.

3. Satinder Singh (COA, Taranjit Singh (COA), Arjun Singh (COA),

Azadwinder Singh (COAE&T) and Gurbrinder Singh (COA) won Silver Medal

in 4x100M Relay.

4. Taranjit Singh (COA) won Bronze Medal in 200M.



Basketball (Men) PAU won Gold Medal in Basketball by defeating

GADVASU, Ludhiana by 51-24.



In Badminton PAU won Gold Medal in both the section (Men and Women) In

men section PAU defeated Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture

& Technology, Pantnagar by 2-0 and women section PAU defeated Govind

Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar by 2-0.



PAU won Gold Medal in Table Tennis (Women) by defeating KVAFUS, Bidar by 3-1.

Shri Jaspal Singh, SAI Table Tennis Coach led the contingent along

with Shri Charanjit Singh, Badminton Coach, PAU, Shri Harjinder Singh,

SAI Basketball Coach and Shri Inderjit Singh, SAI Handball Coach.
