Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Innovations will be organizing two days workshop on \"Quantitative skills for Business Innovations on 29-30th October, 2011 in the Department of Business Innovations. The workshop is aimed to upgrade the mathematical and quantitative skills of the students of M.Com Business innovations to prepare them for using the database for taking quick decisions. The workshop will be having two segments, in the first segments students will be involved in the use of quantitative models for decision making .The students has been divided into groups to take problems and suggest solutions and present their ideas in the presence of experts. The segment involve the discourses by the experts . Both the external and internal faculty of the department has been engaged in conducting the workshop. While giving the details about the workshop, Principal of the College Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar told that department of Business innovations is using modern methodology of teaching which include: workshops, seminars, group discussion, lecture methods, discourses by the experts both from industry and academic field. Dr. Ashwani Bhalla , Programme Coordinator of the M.Com Business Innovations told that experience of organizing students workshops on various technical and non-technical issues is giving fruitful results as the personality of the students is grooming day by day and their thought process is developing new ides which is helpful in developing the curriculum and intellectual capital. He said that present workshop will help the students to prepare them for competitive exams also as it will help them to sharpen thier quantitative ability.
