Government College tops the tally in M.Com

Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Innovations SCD Government College Ludhiana has proved that in spite of constraints in resources. it is best in the city in terms of faculty, quality of education and content delivery. In a result of M.Com 2nd semester declared yesterday by the Panjab University Chandigarh it bags seven positons out of first ten positions of the university. In a merit of first ten positions of the University, student of M.Com 2nd semester Miss Arunika got the first position in the University securing 999 marks out of 1200 and Nikita Jain got 3rd position in the university by getting 978 makrs out of 1200 marks . Similarly Renu got 5th positon , Ridhima 6th, Priyanka 7th, sonam 8th and Manu Sehgal got 10th position in the University.

Principal of the College Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar has congratulated the faculty and students for their remarkable achievements. It is pertinent to mention here that Post Graduate department of commerce and business innovations has added M.Com Business Innovations A UGC Innovative Professional Programme along with B.B.A (Bachelor of Business Administration) from the academic session 2011-12. The department has 11 Faculty members with four PhD, Four MPhil degrees and all the teachers has more than 15 years of teaching experience. Most of the teachers of the department are having research orientation and involved in the research and innovative activities. Mrs Makkar told that teachers of the department has completed one UGC research project and UGC has awarded a Grant of more than one crore to the department under Innovative Programme scheme for building infrastructure in the form of Technology Lab, Smart Class rooms and assistance to appoint two teachers under full salary . The department is using ultra modern facilities to impart education to the students to equip them with latest knowledge with innovative teaching skills.
