To commemorate 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, the students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in collaboration with Young Writers Association and other student members of the club paid rich tributes to the freedom fighter by taking out candle light procession on the campus. The tribute march was organized under the aegis of PAU Students' Association.
Rupinderpal Singh, of Students' Association, urged the youth to get inspiration from martyr's life and work for the national integrity, harmony and development. By celebrating this day, PAU has maintained its old tradition of remembering the revolutionaries – Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. On this occasion, the students pledged to shun all the social evils like female foeticide, drug abuse, dowry, etc.
