Ludhiana Congress pays homage to Pandit Nehru

LUDHIANA, May 27:



Glowing tributes were paid to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 47th death anniversary here today. A special function was organised at the District Congress Committee office which was presided over by the DCC President Pawan Dewan.

Speaking on the occasion, Dewan said, while the whole nation was grateful to Pandit Nehru for his contribution in laying down the foundation of a strong India, Punjab owed a lot to him. He pointed out, it was Pandit Nehru who had granted the Bhakra Dam and Punjab Agricultural University to Punjab which really helped in Punjab progressing way ahead of other states.

The DCC President said, the greatest tribute to Pandit Nehru was to follow the path set by him. He said, there was a need to reinforce his ideas among the people so that India progresses and succeeds well as envisioned by Pandit Nehru.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included councillors Hemraj Aggarwal, Parminder Mehta and Pritpal Singh Ghayal, Palwinder Singh Taggar, Satwinder Singh Jawaddi, Baljinder Singh Bunty and Sushil Malhotra
