PAU ORGANISING PADDY TRANSPLANTING TECHNOLOGY DAY ON MAY 4

LUDHIANA, APRIL 28:-----



The PAU department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering is holding a field day on paddy transplanting technology on May 4 at its research farm near PAU gate No.4. Giving details the Coordinator of Research (Engg.), Dr. C.J.S.Pannu said that the event will be an occasion to review the problems and feedback of farmers and machine operators about the performance of paddy transplanters in the state. He shared that during 2009-10 farmers and cooperative societies purchased nearly 550 paddy transplanters on subsidy. The success for raising good quality mat nursery and proper adjustment and operation of the machines will be discussed, he said.



The experts of farm machinery at PAU will provide technical know how about raising the mat type nursery and adjustments and operations in the technical sessions. There will also be sessions for hands-on training in the field for mat type nursery raising, said Dr. Pannu adding that other machinery relevant to rice cultivation, crop diversification and resource conservation will be put on display. He informed that the PAU Vice-Chancellor, Director Agriculture, Punjab will be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively and the functionaries of state development departments and PAU scientists will participate.
