Ludhiana,30.04.11

The students of G. N. International Sen. Sec. Public School, Model Town, celebrated today, '30 April' as 'Labour Day' in a very novel way reminding us of their importance which we tend to forget in today's busy world and take their services for granted.

The celebrations started since morning and went off till afternoon. It was presented in two batches. First half of the day was celebrated by the Primary Wing and other half of the day by Senior Wing.

The Primary Wing thanked the workers in a special way- presenting songs, choreography, dances etc in their honour.

Sanjampreet Singh of IVstd recited a poem- "Sadi Duniya"- explaining the plight of workers in different parts of the world.

Manveen Kaur of Senior Wing, a Class XI student made students aware of the importance of this day and how it is celebrated all over the world in a different manner, however the purpose is same more or less--- expressing gratitude to the labour class- the services of which are vital for smooth running of the society.

Fancy Dress was presented by these students, highlighting various services provided by them, to make our lives more comfortable, be it – service of an Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Gardener, Peons, Cobbler, Construction labourer, Coolie, House Maids and Drivers etc. The item left every one sitting in the audience spell-bound.
